Tonight I made a birthday card for my co-worker, who is in love with the color purple. I colored in My Favorite Things (MFT) stamp set using Close To My Heart markers topped with stickles glitter. It's hard to see the glitter in this photo, but the dress and the cake are glittered up. I also added three brads in the right hand corner that I also added stickles glitter to. The patterned paper is Making Memories and the solid cardstock is Close To My Heart. This is the first time I got to use my MFT stamp set and I absolutely this set! I can't wait to see her face tomorrow at work when she opens her card.

Paradise

This is a card I made this past weekend. Everything I used is Close To My Heart products: Laid Back level 2 cardstock with Dutch Blue, Vineyard Berry, Sunflower, and White Daisy cardstock and ink; and the Hang Ten stamp set. I used Stickles on the "Paradise" image and underneath there is the Dutch Blue grossgrain ribbon.
I absolutely love this color combination and felt it was fitting since summer is now over and I am putting all of my summer stamps away. I would love to hear any comments.

Found my mojo...
Well, for those of you who don't know this (which is probably ALL of you since this is the first time you are reading any blogs from me), I recently found my stamping mojo. I lost my mojo at the end of last year. Due to horrible family news about my mother and all of the medical issues she was and still is dealing with (stage IV bladder cancer), I could not pick up another stamp, cut another piece of carstock, or adhere another piece of ribbon until recently. A close friend of mine, Michelle, helped me find my creativity again. She asked me to take part in a swap with her. She and I agreed to make 10 christmas cards each and swap them with each other.
When I first agreed to do this, I was very scared. I truly thought I could never be motivated enough to get my lazy butt in gear. Boy, was I wrong! I had so much fun putting together my 10 christmas cards. I want to share them with you, but I want to keep it a surprise for Michelle. So, I plan on posting my christmas cards after this Saturday, once I have had a chance to meet up with her and do our swap.
I owe Michelle the biggest inky hug for helping me find my stamping mojo. It is also because of her that I have the guts to start my own blog! Check her blog out. She is a very creative stamper and I absolutely lover her work. (MEG Bee Designs).
My mother is currently in the hospital recooperating after having major surgery. Like I mentioned above, she has stage IV bladder cancer. The doctors removed her entire bladder last Thursday in a very delicate surgery, which took about 5 1/2 hours with two surgeons. This is still going to be an uphill battle. When she leaves the hospital, she will have another bout of chemo & radiation to deal with. My father and I have a wonderful outlet of friends & family supporting my mother and both of us. I am blessed and truly grateful to have these people in my life.

About Me
I am a stamp addict. I enjoy making creations using wood stamps, acrylic stamps, and digital images. For me, stamping is my escape & a chance for me to unwind & relax. With a full-time job, and being a wife to my husband, Fernando & mother to my 16 month old daughter, Gianna, stamping at the end of the day is my "me" time. It's therapeutic!
Not only do I have a full-time job at a law firm in downtown Las Vegas, I also sell Scentsy wickless candles in my spare time. What's Scentsy you might ask. If you like candles, you'll love Scentsy! Check out my website for more details. (https://miahurtado.scentsy.us/Home).
If you would like to e-mail me about anything, please send it to mialisa@msn.com. Make sure to label your e-mails clearly, just in case it lands in my junk/spam folder.
Thanks!
