Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween! (Happy birthday mom!!!)

I wanted to make some goody boxes for my co-workers for their Halloween candy. I found these cute plastic take out boxes that had Halloween images on them. I simply filled them with candy and added assorted Halloween ribbon the handles of each box. I can't wait to see the smiles on their faces!

My husband and I carved our pumpkins last night. This past weekend, we went with a couple of friends to a pumpkin patch and found two beautiful pumpkins.

I just love how we both decided to put fangs on our pumpkins. I guess great minds think alike!

I'll be back tomorrow with a great RAK I received, and some more creations! Until then.... Happy Halloween everyone. Have a sweet & safe night!

Bright Birthday Wishes

As I promised, I was able to get my fingers inky this weekend and this is another one of my cards from my "me" time on Saturday. I just love this paper. Michelle & I found some great paper in our travels last month at various scrapbooking stores here in town. I always complain that I have too much paper....but I am soon finding out that just isn't the case. You can never have enough cute paper!!!

Card details:

Paper: Stacy Claire Boyd cardstock
Ink: Black Staz-On Ink
Stamps: My Favorite Things stamp set (You Take the Cake), G Clear Stamps for "happy birthday"
Accessories: American Crafts Elements double sided ribbon, Close To My Heart Bigger Brads, scalloped square punch, Pebbles, Inc. pearlescent chalks, and Stickles glitter.

My mother's birthday is tomorrow - Halloween! She loves saying she is a witch because of her birthday landing on Halloween. Growing up in my teen years, I would have agreed with her! But I love this witch and want to make her a great halloween birthday card, which is my next project this evening after work. I also have all the supplies to make take out halloween goody boxes for my co-workers. I will make sure to post photos of both later on this evening.

Until then.....have a great day!!!!

Happy Saturday! I made some "me" time this morning and got my fingers inky! Spare time does not come easy lately for me. Let me know whatcha think!

Stamp Set: My Favorite Things - "Hot Stuff"
Accessories: American Crafts double sided ribbon, Karen Foster Scrapper's Floss, and buttons from Walmart

Thankful

My mother has asked me to help her out and make her some thank you notes for all of the wonderful goodies she has received from family and friends during this difficult time with her bladder cancer. This is the first thank you card I came up with. I sure hope she likes it.

FYI - my mom goes to the oncologist this Thursday and starts her new round of chemo since her bladder removal surgery last month. I still cannot believe it has been 1 month already. She seems to be in good spirits and is ready to start fighting again.

Thank you again for all of your thoughts & prayers!

Card details:
Stamps: My Favorite Things "You Take The Cake"; Close To My Heart Solo "T"
Paper: "Scrapbook Kit in a Stack" from Michael's
Ink & Markers: Close To My Heart
Accessories: Scrapper's Floss by Karen Foster Designs; Buttons from Walmart; Scalloped Square Punch; and Stickles Glitter

Christmas Card Swap - Card # 2

This is Christmas card # 2. I used Close To My Heart Coco Cafe cardstock and CTMH Solos "S" stamp set. I found some cute foam glitter alphabet stickers from my local Michael's and added Stickles glitter to the "S". The santa in the corner is from the CTMH Joy stamp set and I added more glitter to him. The colored staples are also from CTMH. As always, let me know whatcha think!

Christmas Card Swap - Card # 1

My stamping sistah, Michelle, and I decided to do a Christmas card swap with each other. The game plan was to make a total of 10 cards each and swap them. I was a little disappointed with my work and how a few of my cards turned out, so I wanted to share with you just a few of the ones that I was proud of. I believe Michelle was planning on posting her Christmas cards on her blog and I don't want to spoil it by posting hers, yet. Her cards were amazing! If she doesn't post them, then I will! She really was the one who saved me from my stamping demise. She is the reason how I got my mojo back.

This is Christmas card # 1. I used Making Memories cardstock and Close To My Heart Christmas Poinsettias stamp set. I embossed the pointsettia and then colored it in using my CTMH markers. Added some Stickles glitter to it and topped it off with rhinestone stickers in the middle. The Merry Christmas is from the Lizzie Anne Designs stamp set Holiday Cheer. The ribbon is also CTMH. I love this card because it reminds me of a Christmas package. Let me know whatcha think!

Jen's Sham Battle Sunday - Color Combo Challenge0

I decided to try my first color challenge from Jen. The challenge is to create anything with the following color combo: Bashful Blue (baby blue), Close to cocoa (Light brown), Certainly celery (Pastel green). I used Stampin Up cardstock and the flower stamp is from Autmun Leaves - Flowers by Rhonna Farrer. I am a glitter-o-holic, so of course I had to use my Stickles to glitter up the big flower and the green leaves. The ribbon is Heavenly Blue grossgrain ribbon by Close To My Heart.

This was alot of fun to put together. I haven't stepped foot into my craft room all week. Not enough time in the day to play!

Let me know whatcha think!

Think Pink!

Well, I got home from a very long day at work to some fun mail. My MFT stamp order came in!!!! I absolutely love this stamp set!!!! I went upstairs immediately to my craft room and got to work. I used my Prismacolors colored pencils for the girls, fun brads & scalloped ribbon. The printed cardstock is by Stacy Claire Boyd. I just had to use my Stickles on the tiny ribbons. I put a little bit of pearlescent chalk on the girl in pink. I even found pink grossgrain ribbon that I made into the Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon. Lastly, had to add in some pop dots for dimension. I can see making a bunch of these cards for my girlfriends, along with some fun pink goodies to wear!

On another note.... I am so excited and happy to announce that my mother was released from the hospital today, two weeks to the day of her bladder removal surgery. She is finally home! My father & I are so happy. She seems like a brand new woman to me. You wouldn't be able to tell she is battling bladder cancer. She was even brave enough to show me what her urostomy bag looks like and how she can go anytime she wants & even doing it standing up! I love that she has such a great outlook and is staying positive. Thank you for all of your prayers. My family has truly appreciated it. She returns to the oncologist 6 weeks after her surgery, which is November 1st, to see what the next step is (another bout with chemo & radiation??)

Thank goodness the weekend is finally here.....I have some fun stamping to do this weekend!

Halloweenies...

I had so much fun with my Frankenstein card, I couldn't walk away from my craft room without trying another Halloween card. I used Close To My Heart stamp set Trick or Treaters and colored them in using my Prismacolor colored pencils. The cardstock I had laying around, and used purple, orange & green eyelets. I also used Stickles glitter on the ghost and on the shadow under the tricker-or-treaters (camera didn't pick it up). The "trick or treat" stamp on the right is from the Spooky Sweets stamp set by Paper Trey. (I just love that stamp set! So many versatile sayings in there).
Look for more Halloween cards hopefully tomorrow....

Trick-or-Treat

I wanted to play with the papers and goodies Michelle & I bought over the weekend. I fell in love with the Halloween themed Embossible Designs punch outs, which is this cute Frankenstein. I used Stickles on his hair and shoes. The purple paper is glittered carstock (hard to see that it glitters in this photo) and I used my scalloped oval punch to punch out the trick or treat image (Spooky Treats by PaperTrey) I used a pop dot to give it a 3-D look. Last but not least, I put black eyelets in each corner.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I hope to post some more Halloween goodies in the next few days...
